Licence terms

These terms cover the software Navigation Ed (ABN 71 396 982 208) licenses to you: the assessment tool, the AI agents, the readiness report, the resource library, Evenings Back, and anything else on this site described as a tool. Workshops, coaching and speaking are covered by the event terms instead.

Everything here is a web app. It runs in your browser. There is nothing to download and nothing to install. It works on Mac, Windows, Chromebook and iPad, including the latest macOS and Windows 11. You need an internet connection to use it. If you want a copy of your own work on your own machine, every tool exports to a file.

A personal licence is one teacher. One person, their own classes, their own key. Do not pass the key around a staffroom. If a whole staff needs the tool, the school licence costs less than the number of personal licences you would otherwise buy.

A school licence is one school. Any number of staff at that school, casuals and relief teachers included. It does not stretch to a second school, a cluster, a diocese or a network. Each school buys its own.

How long it runs. Licences are annual or monthly, depending on which one you bought, and the product page says which. Annual licences do not renew on their own — I email you before yours runs out, and if you do nothing it simply stops. Monthly licences continue until you cancel.

Cancelling. Cancel any time. No notice period, no exit fee, no phone call where someone tries to talk you out of it. Email matthew@navigationed.com.au and it is done. A monthly licence runs to the end of the month you have paid for. An annual licence is refunded pro rata if you cancel in the first 30 days; after that it runs to its end date.

Your work is yours. Every task you rewrite, every protocol you draft, every report you generate belongs to your school or to you. Export it whenever you like. If your licence ends, ask and I will send you everything you made before the account closes. What you have already downloaded stays yours.

Your data. I store what the tool needs to work and nothing else. Do not paste in anything that identifies a student by name — the tools do not need it and work fine without it. I do not sell data and I do not train public models on your school’s work. Ask for a deletion and I delete it.

No resale. You may use the tools and everything you make with them inside your own school or business, including with your staff, students and parents. You may not on-sell a licence, run the tool as a service for other schools, or publish the material as your own product.

Navigation Ed keeps the code. You are buying a licence to use the software, not the software itself. The tools, the prompts behind them and the underlying code stay mine. If I ever stop running a tool you have an ongoing licence to, you get ninety days’ notice and a full export.

What I promise, and what I do not. The tools help you think and draft. They do not make your professional judgement for you, and nothing they produce should go out the door unread. I do not promise a particular result, and I am not liable for decisions made off the back of a draft. Where liability cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law, it is limited to what you paid for the licence.

Support. Email matthew@navigationed.com.au. I reply within one business day. If something is broken, tell me what you were doing when it broke.

Law. These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. Nothing here removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
